Drupal Scalability and Performance
Success for a web site is often measured by traffic (more page views, more visitors, …etc.)
Sites can be victims to their own success when increased popularity causes it to be slow, or unable to handle more page views.
Sites can also be victims when users are not careful with what is going on behind the scenes after users log in.
Here are some things that we will touch on and discuss:
* What are the symptoms to look for?
* What are the areas you investigate for problems?
* What tools are available to help you diagnose issues?
* What are some hints and tips for making your site faster?
While I will come prepared with slides on tips and tricks I have learned over my years of experience, this is a Bird of a Feather (BOF) format, so everyone can share their experience. Come prepared with hints/tips and findings, as well as questions …
UPDATE – The slides are now available online at http://www.slideshare.net/BTMash/performance-scalability

Slides from the presentation
Hi everyone,
Thank you for the kind words you had for me after the presentation. There was a lot of material to cover (and I wish I could have gone into more detail on aspects such as MySQL but that would be a presentation all by itself). As promised during the presentation, I have posted my slides up on slideshare at http://www.slideshare.net/BTMash/performance-scalability – you can digest the material at your own pace and please let me know if there are any issues. Also, the presentation was recorded (and uploaded to UCI) via camtasia so the video from UCI should be coming up soon.
You are welcome to contact me if there are things you may be stuck on.
Regards,
Ashok
