John Romine
Bio
I'm a long-time software developer starting with assembly on 8-bit, 16-bit and 36-bit processors through high level languages including C and PHP. I've worked as a systems programmer, UNIX systems administrator, network manager, DBA, and application developer. I'm a strong advocate for open-source solutions.
At present, 80% of the time I'm the Director of Computing for the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at UC Irvine. The other 80% of the time, I'm supporting various Drupal sites in our school, or working on developing web-based applications for automating business processes using PHP, MySQL and Drupal.
My development focus is on open-source, reusable code to create applications with outstanding user experience.
I'm an OC native, participate in the LA Drupal and OCPHP/Drupal groups, and I'm delighted to have been able to help bring Drupal Camp LA to the UCI campus.
