Third annual DrupalCampLA August 8-9th
Next weekend is the third annual DrupalCampLA event. If you are not yet registered, please make sure you do it today! http://2009.drupalcampla.com
If you are registered, help us finalize the schedule by choosing your sessions. If you have something to share, it’s not too late, we still have room for a few more good sessions or BoF’s – so come prepared to share: http://2009.drupalcampla.com/sessions
The third annual DrupalCampLA is the ultimate FREE conference organized by the LA Drupal user group, hosted by UC Irvine this year, to unite and improve the Drupal Development Community on the West Coast.

This free Drupal event is next weekend, August 8-9th 2009, from 8am-7pm each day, and will feature multiple large tracks and open community rooms for BoFs (birds of a feather) and small topic meetups.
*** RSVP is required and the event is free to attend. ***
Gravitek Labs + The Revere Group + AF83 Inc. + WorkHabit + Exaltations of Larks + Urban Insight + Development Seed + CMS Web Services + Open Web Solutions
Win daily prizes including Drupal books, DVDs, training tickets, hosting coupons, and more. This year we have over $1,400 in Drupal-related prizes!
At the camp we will be holding multiple Drupal Install Fests. If you need help getting Drupal installed on your laptop then visit our Install Fest with your laptop in hand. Volunteers will help get Drupal working on Windows, Mac OS X, and/or Linux. Microsoft & Drupalchix members each are hosting a Drupal Install Fest! Arrive early to get Drupal installed so you can follow along on your laptop all day!
NOTE: The camp site code is released under GPL, so you can download it for your own sites and local camps (or other community event)!
UC Irvine School of Engineering is hosting our camp this year.

What sessions will be at the event? All Drupal, all day! If you are a beginner you will get to learn the basics. For free. Learn more modules. Learn how to theme. For free.
If you are a Drupal master, come learn and share new code and your latest uber-tips with fellow Drupal contributors. In real life. For free. Community networking and job hunting. For free. We set the stage, but all of you make this happen!
In true BarCamp fashion, all sessions are submitted by attendees. Session submissions are arranged into a schedule. Anything can happen, so any schedule published is subject to change. At this time we have over 40 sessions submitted, but can accept more. Instead of a deadline for session submissions, we are planning the official schedule this weekend and any new sessions submitted would be able to take place in a smaller room.
Session hightlight: Women of Drupal Please Stand Up (a panel featuring exceptional women in drupal discussing how to encourage more public participation from women) – http://2009.drupalcampla.com/sessions/women-drupal-please-stand-panel-fe…
What Drupal topics are needed? People need to learn a lot of basics, so fundamental sessions are good. Even as simple as “Modules 101”. Of course Drupal has a lot of non-beginners drooling to learn the latest tips for administering and enhancing Drupal.
Community sparked sessions (also known as BoFs; birds of a feather) can be arranged in our online forums or at the event itself. Any session not arranged in an official track is more than welcome to be a community BoF session.
As always, we are encouraging strong participation from the women who do cool things with Drupal! If you have things to share, please consider submitting a session proposal. You can also ask for help if you feel like you’d like to join with someone in proposing a session. See http://2009.drupalcampla.com/drupalchix for Drupalchix track details.
Before reading all the cool details, we’d like to say we could not have done this event without our sponsors and supporters! Support provided by Cherry Hill Co., TransparaTech, Exaltations of Larks, Active Lamp, Volacci, Siruna, Green Bird Media, Intrinsic Web Designs, TxT (This by Them), XTND.US, & MediaDoneRight. Additional community support provided by the following user groups: San Diego Drupal (SDDUG), High-Desert Drupal (HDDUG), San Francisco Drupal (SFDUG), Las Vegas Drupal (LVDUG), and Santa Barbara Drupal (SBDUG).
DrupalCampLA is an unconference-style Drupal training with the goal of bringing smart people together in an environment that is accessible to everyone. It’s a lot of fun, with fresh faces and ideas! Since this is a FREE event and entirely volunteer run, we also expect active participation from everyone when it comes to running the conference. This is as simple as picking up after yourself or actively fixing something you see is broken, but please feel welcome to take an active role in making this a great event. Visit the camp site – http://2009.drupalcampla.com – for ideas about how you might participate.

What is Drupal Camp LA?
Since 2007, the LA Drupal user group has organized a wonderful mini-conference free for the community. In 2008, 435 Drupal users registered for our camp and we took over the Los Angeles Convention Center. This year we are taking over a local university and are able to keep our mini-conference free!
