Sessions
What sessions will be at the event? All Drupal, all day! If you are a beginner you will get to learn the basics. For free. Learn more modules. Learn how to theme. For free. If you are a Drupal master, come learn and share new code and your latest uber-tips with fellow Drupal contributors. In real life. For free. Community networking and job hunting. For free. We set the stage, but all of you make this happen!
Give-a-ways
Win daily prizes including Drupal books, DVDs, training tickets, hosting coupons, and more. Last year we gave away over $600 in prizes!
Install-fest
At the camp we will be holding a Drupal Install Fest. If you need help getting Drupal installed on your laptop then visit our official Drupal Install Fest with your laptop in hand. Volunteers will help get Drupal working on Windows, Mac OS X, and/or Linux. Drupalchix members will host a Drupal Install Fest, sponsored by our very own drupalchix track leaders! Getting Drupal installed on your laptop early makes sure can follow along on your laptop all day!
Read the details below for more info. If you can't wait, then visit our awesome new camp site* thanks to This by Them - http://drupalcampla.com
* The camp site code is released under GPL, so you can download it for your own local camps (or other community event)!
Before reading all the cool details, we'd like to say we could not have done this event without our sponsors and supporters! Support provided by Cherry Hill Co., TransparaTech, Exaltations of Larks, Active Lamp, TxT (This by Them), XTND.US, & MediaDoneRight. Additional community support provided by the following user groups: San Diego Drupal (SDDUG), High-Desert Drupal (HDDUG), San Francisco Drupal (SFDUG), Las Vegas Drupal (LVDUG), and Santa Barbara Drupal (SBDUG).
DrupalCampLA is an unconference-style Drupal training with the goal of bringing smart people together in an environment that is accessible to everyone. It's a lot of fun, with fresh faces and ideas! Since this is a free event and entirely volunteer run, we also expect active participation from everyone when it comes to running the conference. This is as simple as picking up after yourself or actively fixing something you see is broken, but please feel welcome to take an active role in making this a great event. Visit the camp site - http://2009.drupalcampla.com - for ideas about how you might participate.
We may announce an after party for Saturday night and are looking to have a mixer Friday night for those arriving into town early.
Sessions
In true BarCamp fashion, all sessions are submitted by attendees. Session submissions are arranged into a schedule. Anything can happen, so any schedule published is subject to change. We are interested in assembling a single track for beginners, so if you plan to submit a session please consider a beginners topic.
What topics are we interested in seeing submitted? Anything Drupal related. People need to learn a lot of basics, so fundamental sessions are good. Even as simple as "Blocks 101". Of course Drupal has a lot of non-beginners drooling to learn the latest tips for administering and enhancing Drupal.
Community sparked sessions (also known as BoFs; birds of a feather) can be arranged in our online forums or at the event itself. Any session not arranged in an official track is more than welcome to be a community BoF session.
As always, we are encouraging strong participation from the women who do cool things with Drupal! If you have things to share, please consider submitting a session proposal. You can also ask for help if you feel like you'd like to join with someone in proposing a session. See http://2009.drupalcampla.com/drupalchix for Drupalchix track details.

What is Drupal Camp LA?
Since 2007, the LA Drupal user group has organized a wonderful mini-conference free for the community. Last year, over 450 of you registered and we took over the Los Angeles Convention Center. This year we are taking over a local university and are able to keep our mini-conference free!
