Drupal Camp LA 2009 is a success!
Brains are full, and Drupal Camp LA 2009 is now officially over. The event was a total success. Thanks go to our sponsors and supporters. And a very special thank you goes to all our volunteers!
Dozens of raffle winners walked away with the best books in print for Drupal skill development. Over 500 Drupal fans were in attendance. Install Fests were a success. The Drupalchix table did a great job. And with over 60 sessions submitted, people got to see 4 tracks of Drupal training - totaling over 40 hours of content! Wow. Most sessions were recorded, and we will have the videos edited later this month (some are on tape still). Many verbal compliments poured in that the advanced sessions were great, and with something like 70% Drupalcamp-newbies, the beginner sessions were packed!
Expect a much more detailed wrap up report in your Inbox with our attendee survey. Make sure you are posting in the forums, so you don't forget what you did or didn't like. We are already in early planning stages for our camp in 2010, so your comments help us keep this community training the best on the West Coast.
(I think we all need a couple days to decompress.)
Again, thank you to our wonderful sponsors: UC Irvine School of Engineering, PingVision, Microsoft, Acquia, This By Them, and others.
Update: The case study mentioned in the keynote is now available on the front page of Drupal.org. http://drupal.org/node/519100

nice event
Great event and cool pictures. This event would be a great subject of a wonderful event for my college essay and share it too in my paper writing service. Thanks for sharing links and pictures. Nice work and congratulations to all!
Thank you organizers!
Another great camp. I know so many people puts hours/love/sweat and maybe some tears into making the weekend a huge success. So thanks to all of you, to all the sponsors and all the other participants. I had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
A phenomenal weekend
Thanks to everyone involved (organizers, UC Irvine, sponsors, presenters and attendees for making the whole weekend a fantastic experience.
Using tweets posted with the camp hashtags, I created a DrupalCampLA word cloud, which shows what people were talking about all weekend. Have a look at:

Drupal Camp LA 2009 was awesome!
Wow! Thank you so much for bringing Drupal Camp LA to UC Irvine this year! My personal take-away was incredible; I’m jazzed to start working on some new Drupal projects with the workflow module, flag module, and CCK & views. I know other folks at UCI who have similar great things to say. The momentum in Drupal is huge right now, and the interest on campus is picking up steam also. Outstanding software like Drupal really shines when it’s shown off (and free doesn’t hurt either).
The weekend held an ocean of really great presentations, and I’m looking forward to viewing the screencasts of the ones I missed attending in person. A big thanks to all the presenters who took the time to install Camtasia Relay and record their sessions. Thanks also to the staff at UCI Classroom Technology, and Information and Academic Technologies who took extra effort to make it possible for us to use Camtasia Relay.
Personal highlights for me were:
I also heard great things about Rain Breaw‘s session Views Demystified (which I couldn’t attend since I was scheduled to talk at the same time). I’ll be watching the screencast this week for sure.
Thanks very much to our sponsors, and particularly my personal thanks to Woody Pewitt from Microsoft who went above and beyond in helping us set up on Sunday morning. Special thanks also to everyone who stayed late and helped clean up the classrooms, lecture halls and sponsor room.
The Drupal Camp LA website was incredible; Blake and his partners at This by Them set a new standard for future Drupal Camp websites. Great job Drupalchix, Rain Breaw, and Nicole Bluto in their work helping organize Drupal Camp, and in building interest among women to participate more in Drupal activities.
Last, I can’t give thanks enough to Chris Charlton, and Mike Stewart for the incredible effort they put forward to produce such a fantastic two days. Great job guys, and I look forward to working with you again next year.
See you at Code Sprint, August 15-16, 2009 at CauseCast in Santa Monica.

Great times!
Thanks for the wonderful first experience guys. I really appreciate it and gained so much from the visit. Hope to make it again sometime in the future.

drupalchix conversation followup
As promised, the Drupalchix Conversation can be followed up on or expanded upon here:

I’ll post the audio file and meeting minutes (thanks Peter Benjamin for helping out with those!) soon, hopefully within the next two days ;)
And a very special thanks to all of the drupalchix who responded to our request for session proposals from women. We had a notable number of great sessions led by women at this camp, and are very excited about what that means for the next one!
